We celebrate World Animal Day! Are you joining us?
Mark your calendar for October 4th and write down your pet's name. After all, it's World Animal Day! And it’s the perfect reason to spoil your beloved companion a little more than usual! But what else is World Animal Day about?
As the name suggests, World Animal Day is an international event. On this day, we reflect on the relationship between humans and animals and the associated animal rights. We must realize even more that animals, in all circumstances, should be regarded as living beings who, just like humans, have feelings.
Nearly a century of animal love
The first Animal Day was born in 1925 in Berlin when Heinrich Zimmerman, a pioneer in the fight for animal rights, introduced the idea. However, it wasn't until 1931 that his proposal to make it a global Animal Day was approved. Since then, we have paused each year on October 4th to reflect on how we treat animals.
Part of the family
There are several things we can do to give animals a better life. For example, you can adopt a dog or cat. It's important, however, to do this only when you're sure you can take proper care of them. This brings us to a second point: if you have pets, make sure to take good care of them and give them the love they deserve. A dog or cat needs more than just food and water. When you have a pet, they are part of the family. And you treat them as such, with the necessary love, play, and quality time.
