Tabby Tiger Matatabi Sticks
brings peace (through playing, gnawing, rolling)
ideal for cats that suffer from irritation, frustration & lethargy
offers distraction and peace in stressful situations (such as during a trip, moving, after expanding the family, boarding or at the vet)
The Matatabi tree is related to the Kiwi tree and grows in Asia, especially in China and Japan. The dried twigs of this tree have a very special effect on cats. It contains a substance that cats like, which helps them relax. Matatabi contains actinicin and matatabi lactone. These are alkaloids that influence nerve stimulation in the brain in Felidae. It is often seen that cats that are naturally relaxed have less interest in the sticks than cats that are under tension.
Dosage and application
You can give Matatabi (complementary animal feed) as a toy. Cats play with the stick, some chew it or bite it to pieces. Many cats will roll and rub in places where the stick or remnants of it used to be. After playing, the cat is calmer, the pupil decreases and it is often washed and slept. If the bark is removed from the stick, the effect is even greater.
Excessive tension can manifest itself in cats in different ways:
- Aggressiveness
- Immorality
- Destructiveness (scratching furniture)
- Lots of meowing
- Licking oneself a lot or pulling out hair (hairballs!!)
- Diarrhea, vomiting or other physical complaints
